Ángel Camacho Alimentación presenta su primera Memoria de Sostenibilidad

In September the company presented its Sustainability Report for 2013, the first such report to be published by the company. This extensive document was preceded by the 2012 Progress Report, which was the result of our participation in the United Nations sponsored Global Compact Initiative.

The report was prepared based on the regulations and recommendations of the updated G-4 Global Reporting Initiative guidelines. The aim of this report is to publish and share the advances and results of our economic, social and environmental activities and how we have managed to establish a culture of responsibility in all aspects of the company's operations.

Angel Camacho is characterised by a long-term business approach that facilitates our commitment to sustainability. Corporate Social Responsibility has been effectively integrated in all key aspects of the business, including sustainable use of natural resources, sustainability in the production process and generation of benefits which are shared with local society.

This first report essentially considers the activities of the company Ángel Camacho Alimentación, although it also includes the most representative activities of the several companies that make up the Angel Camacho Group. Future editions will incorporate information on subsidiaries in other countries, although these activities are less significant in terms of production and environmental and social impact than those reflected in this report.

The 2013 Sustainability Report offers an extensive overview of all our environmental achievements over the past decade, a reflection of our commitment to this sustainability strategy.

Some of the most relevant aspects of the report  point to balanced and profitable growth based on a solid commercial capacity, efficiency of processes and stable, mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers. It also reflects the company's commitment to its staff and actions for the benefit of society in general.

Logically, the largest section of the report consists of a detailed outline of Angel Camacho's environmental policy, which is based on an environmental management system in accordance with the ISO 14001:2004 standard established in 2005. The report also highlights all the advances made by the company, including milestones such as the calculation of the Carbon Footprint in 2012 (the first time in the world for production of table olives and  preserves) calculation of the Water Footprint in 2013, and the company's registration in the EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) Register in early 2014.
